I just remember being in high school–we didn't have the internet or email then, or cell phones either. I can't imagine ever getting homework or studying done if we'd had IM, email & cell phones…tho it would've been way easier to chat w/ friends.
We had technology–regular phones, computers for writing papers, word processors–technology in general like cars, lighting, TV etc…
Can't imagine growing up w/o hospitals, grocery stores, TV, advil…
