Speaking as a college student, I'd say, first and foremost, technology has made us impatient. The internet provides instant gratification and we've become used to it.
I grew up next to a farm that I helped at, so I know a little bit about hard work and real life, but most of my peers are pretty spoiled. Maybe spoiled is the wrong word, but basically, we're not self reliant. In general, we're pretty disconnected from anythig in the natural world and I think we rely on technology too much.
