Is it true that technology companies hate hiring Ivy League grads in Computer Science?

I heard from somewhere that many software and technology companies avoid hiring computer science grads from Ivy League schools because essentially, they just need someone who knows how to program, and Ivy League grads come off as arrogant or too ambitious (a threat to management).

Is this true? Is it really hard for a company to hire someone from a top school for a programmer or IT consulting position?

Ivy League grads have that reputation for ANY major. It will really depends on the particular company. Most companies have at least one school that they officially blacklist those grads due to past bad experiences with them. However there is no industry wide blacklist of Ivy league grads for any profession/major.
