    First, learn XHTML, CSS and XML

    Then, move to dynamic technologies, such as PHP, ASP, or ColdFusion.

    Javascript, DHTML and AJAX will allow you to create sites that are interactive with the user.

    For databases, chose from MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle.

    I would recomend XHTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and MySQL in that order to create a strong foundation to build on.
